Happy Monday! A fun (blurry) weekend.

Happy Monday!

I think I really have the Monday morning blues today. We had such a great weekend. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful for my awesome job. Just that our family had such a wonderful time together this weekend, I'm not ready for it to be over!

Since I was scatterbrained and didn't have my camera this weekend, I used my Blackberry to snap a few pics.

Saturday morning we headed to the pool for birthday party. I made this item to put into a bag I made for the birthday girl. (See the bag here.)

I was very pleased with how it turned out. If anyone wants me to, I can make the template available. I think ifI just transfer it to a few sheets of paper and scan it, I can figure it out from there. I suppose Google docs? (If anyone has a better sugggestion, I am all ears.) Although I think there are a ton of good kid apron tutorials out there already. I used a variegated thread for her name on the pocket. I like the way it turned out.

The party was at the pool. Delilah LOVES swimming at the pool. She especially loves her pool floatation device. She insisted on wearing it around the house. Take a look at ths Blackberry blurry photo - complete with special effects possessed doggy eyes!

(Sorry about the blurry pics.)

Saturday afternoon was the USA vs. England World Cup soccer match. A tie. Sigh. I had promised pictures of Delilah in her "London Calling" dress and clippy, so, as promised, with my Blackberry blurry photos, here she is!

Oh, yeah, she had a Union Jack purse also. Perfect for legos and cars and to show off an early knack for accessorizing!

Some of you had posted some great suggestions of what to put in the birthday bag for a 3 year old girl. I was in Target looking around and ran into a neighbor. She said the birthday girl really loved dress up. So I checked out the dress up section at Target and was dismayed! Pretty expensive for some not-so-fancy items. So that's when I came up with the apron idea.
And I am now personally on the hunt for dress-up items to stow away for Delilah. My plan is to amass a little collection of fun things for a dress up trunk to give her - perhaps by her 2nd birthday I'll have a nice collection together to play with. I have so far managed to find an adorable little leopard print pillbox hat. I had to try it on Delilah so here she is looking quite dignified in her hat as she eats something yummy. (Another Blackberry blurry pic)

Thanks for stopping by. Please don't forget to enter my giveaway!
